Ocean Renewable Power Company has been able to get into long term power purchase agreement with utilities as per directive from Maine Public Utilities Commission

Tidal energy has never been very successful. However there is a recent long term power purchase agreement for tidal energy in the United States. The Maine Public Utilities Commission has asked 4 MW of tidal electricity from Ocean Renewable Power Company.
