Attrition is good or bad? It is like Inflation, “Little bit and controlled is always beneficial”. It slips out of hand and you are doomed.

Attrition is good or bad? It is like Inflation, “Little bit and controlled is always beneficial”. It slips out of hand and you are doomed.

The million dollar question which every organization asks and grapples. It is a no brainer that zero attrition is extremely harmful. It is always healthy to have a small attrition and controlled one. It helps you to move out unwanted resources and bring in fresh perspective within the organization. But then who controls it. Leave it to the managers they would retain their cronies and make a recipe for slow poison only to make the organization die in sleep.

There are organization which have policies of up or out. But then the organization needs to be sure that it doesn’t turn counterproductive by inducing unhealthy internal competition.
