The Health Care Industry is growing at a healthy pace in India. However the healthcare spend is significantly low compared to developed nations or other similar emerging economies and there are significant challenges to be addressed in terms of quality, access and affordability of healthcare services.
IIM Calcutta Innovation Park (IIMCIP) in association with Tata Group is organising a Roundtable at Bangalore on 11 August 2016, to bring together the key stakeholders in the healthcare domain on a common platform and exchange ideas, highlight key issues & challenges, identify opportunities and draw out best practices for the industry to emulate. The theme of this interactive session is “Providing Affordable Healthcare” and the discussion would centre around three broad themes - Quality, Access, and Affordability of healthcare for the masses. The roundtable would be attended by industry leaders, academia, entrepreneurs and investors focussed on the healthcare domain. The session will begin at 2.00 PM and the discussions (including Q&A) will be for two and half hours followed by High Tea. The venue will be Hotel Fortune Park JP Celestial, Bangalore. The panellists for the roundtable are Dr. Sumanth C Raman (Head – Healthcare and Life Sciences ISU, TCS), Meena Ganesh (CEO – Portea Medical), Prof Manish Thakur (Professor – IIM Calcutta), Aditya Sharma (Senior Partner - Unitus Seed Fund) and Vikram Vuppala (Founder & CEO – NephroPlus) IIMCIP (www.iimcip.org) is a section 8 company incorporated under the aegis of IIM Calcutta to promote entrepreneurship and innovation. “Thinking Social” is IIMCIP’s flagship event in the social entrepreneurship space and is conducted in partnership with the TATA group. As part of this initiative, IIMCIP conducts several seminars, roundtables and lecture series across India which culminates into its flagship business plan contest called – The Tata Social Enterprise challenge.
